San Diego Aerospace Museum Penny
Out of stock
The Aerospace Museum was originally built in 1935 for The California Pacific International Exposition at the southern end of San Diego's Balboa Park. The Ford Motor Company invested $2 million (more than $31 million in today's dollars) to build a showcase for its 1935 line of cars and the V-8 engine (the building is in the shape of an '8'). Since that time, the building has been used for a transportation museum, a vocational school to train aviation workers during WWII, park maintenance, and storage. In 1978 a fire destroyed most of the aerospace exhibit in a neighboring building. In 1980 the exhibit was moved here. When the museum changed it's name to the San Diego Air & Space Museum, this machine had to go, but you can still own a piece of history with this retired coin.
