LANCASHIRE- Manchester, England Website Electric machine located ground floor not far from the museum's souvenir shop: Come in through the entrance door, turn immediately left, then go into the second display area (just past the donations box). No admission charge.
Design: Correction: The Steam locomotive on this penny is called 'PLANET' (not 'Stephensons Rocket') -built in 1830 by Manchester & Liverpool Railway - a real-sized replica of which gives passenger rides in the museum grounds. Text: 'Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester'.
A visit on 5/6/2008 found this machine once again broken! However an attendant stated that both machines would be kept for the foreseeable future, as they were very popular.
Machine 2 is located against the opposite wall and is also electric/1-die. Picture on penny is a Tardis, with text: 'Manchester MOSI 2007'. (v). This is from the 2007 Dr Who Exhibition of that year, which has now moved on from here.
NEW INFO! Both machines are working fine and are pressing well as reported on Saturday 2 May 2009. |
